Affiliate disclosure

This page explains how HoursHQ makes money, and what that does and does not affect.

Some pages may contain affiliate links to payroll, time-tracking or accounting software. If you follow one and buy something, we may receive a commission. It costs you nothing extra.

Where a page contains an affiliate link, it is labelled on that page. Not everything we link to is an affiliate link — links to GOV.UK, Acas, legislation.gov.uk and other official sources never are.

What it does not affect

Nothing in the calculators or the guides is influenced by a commercial relationship.

The statutory figures come from primary sources and are what they are. No advertiser can change a rate, soften a caveat, or have a limitation removed. If a product we earn a commission on is a poor fit for something, we will say so.

The affiliate slot appears in one place: beneath the answer on a calculator result. It never appears on a guide, and it never appears above the figure you came for. If it ever competes with the result for attention, the tool has stopped being the product and we have got the balance wrong.

Advertising

If we add display advertising, this page will say so. Ads will not appear inside calculator results or between a question and its answer.

Why say all this

This site’s whole proposition is that its figures are right when other sites’ are not. That claim is worth nothing if you cannot tell where the money comes from.
