This site collects as little as it can. There are no analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixels and no third-party scripts.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies of its own and stores nothing in your browser. WordPress sets a cookie only if you log in to the site as an administrator, which does not apply to visitors.
That is why there is no cookie banner. A consent banner exists to get permission to store or read information on your device, and nothing here does either.
What the calculators do with your figures
Nothing is stored. What you enter is used to work out the answer for that request and is not written to the database or sent anywhere. If you share a result, the figures travel in the link itself — so treat a shared link as containing whatever you typed.
If you use the contact form
We collect your name, your email address, the topic you chose and your message. They are stored in this site’s database so the message is not lost if the email fails, and a copy is emailed to us.
The lawful basis is legitimate interests: you have asked us a question and we need your details to answer it. Messages are kept for two years and then deleted.
If you join the email list
We collect your email address, the date you confirmed, and which page you signed up from.
The lawful basis is consent. You give it by clicking the confirmation link, and nothing is sent before you do. The list is used for one thing: telling you when the UK statutory figures change, which is normally once a year in April.
Every email carries an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing deletes your address rather than flagging it, so nothing of yours remains on the list.
If you use a letter template
Nothing you type into a letter template is stored or sent. The letter is built in your browser and on our server for the moment it takes to produce it. The values appear in the page address, so avoid sharing that link if it contains anything you would rather keep private.
Who else sees any of it
Nobody. Your details are not sold, shared or passed to any third party. Email is sent through our hosting provider, which processes it only to deliver the message.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Write to the address on the contact page and we will respond within one month.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, the date below changes with it. There is no archive of previous versions, so if that matters to you, keep a copy.
