HoursHQ is designed to collect as little as possible about you. This page explains exactly what that means.
What the calculators do with your figures
Nothing you enter into a calculator is stored, logged or transmitted to us.
Calculations run on our server to produce the page you see, and the figures are discarded once the response is sent. Nothing is written to a database, nothing is kept in a log, and nothing is passed to a third party.
If you use the shareable link feature, your figures appear in the URL. That is the point — it lets you send a calculation to someone else. It also means anyone with that link can see those figures, so treat a shared link the way you would treat the numbers themselves.
What we do collect
- Standard server logs: IP address, browser type, pages requested, and the time of the request. These are used to keep the site running and to spot abuse, and are kept for a limited period.
- Analytics, if enabled: aggregate figures about which pages are visited. We do not use analytics to identify individuals.
- Anything you send us by email, kept only as long as needed to deal with it.
Cookies
The calculators do not set cookies and do not require them. WordPress may set a cookie if you leave a comment or log in.
If we add analytics or advertising, this page will say so before it happens, and any non-essential cookies will require your consent.
Third parties
The site links to external sources such as GOV.UK, Acas and legislation.gov.uk. Those sites have their own privacy policies.
If we add affiliate links, they are disclosed on the page carrying them and in our affiliate disclosure. An affiliate link may allow the destination to know you arrived from here.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask what personal data we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. Given how little we collect, the answer to the first question is usually very short.
